Our RPO London Dry Gin has recently made waves in the industry with its impressive accolades. The gin, created in collaboration with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, was awarded a bronze medal at the International Wine & Spirits Competition (IWSC) Awards, solidifying its reputation as a premium spirit.

The IWSC Awards are one of the most prestigious and well-respected competitions in the spirits industry, known for their rigorous judging process and high standards. Each year, spirits from around the world are blind-tasted and evaluated by a panel of expert judges, who assess various criteria such as aroma, flavour, balance, and overall quality. Winning a medal at the IWSC Awards is a significant achievement and a testament to the exceptional craftsmanship and dedication that goes into creating a superior spirit.

It was also ‘Highly Commended’ in the Gin Guide Awards 2023! The Gin Guide Awards is the annual and global celebration of the exceptional spirits, distilleries and distillers in our industry. In 2023 the quality and diversity of entries has been truly exceptional, with hundreds of entries from over 35 different countries.

The Royal Philharmonic London Dry Gin, handcrafted by Ludlow Distillery, is a premium gin that pays homage to the world-famous orchestra known for their exceptional performances. The gin is made using a traditional London dry gin recipe with a modern twist, featuring a careful selection of botanicals that are meticulously infused and distilled to create a harmonious flavour profile.

Master distiller, Shaun Ward, said, “The orchestra’s new season, entitled Journeys of Discovery, prompted us to create this gin, which is inspired by travels across Europe. Classic London Dry botanicals of juniper, coriander, angelica and orris are combined with fragrant lemon peel and thyme from Spain, and delicately scented dried fig leaves; hand-crafted, copper-distilled and bottled with love by hand.”

One of the key factors that sets the RPO London Dry Gin apart is its unique botanical blend. The gin features classic botanicals such as juniper berries, coriander seeds, and angelica root, which are carefully balanced with contemporary additions like pink peppercorns, lemon peel, and orris root. This combination creates a well-rounded and complex flavour profile that is both traditional and contemporary, making it a versatile choice for cocktails or sipping neat.

The RPO Gin is crafted in small batches using traditional copper pot stills, which allows for precise control over the distillation process and results in a spirit with exceptional purity and smoothness. The use of premium ingredients and traditional distillation techniques reflects the commitment of our Distillery to producing curiously smooth spirits of the highest quality.

Receiving a bronze medal at the IWSC Awards is a significant achievement for the Royal Philharmonic London Dry Gin and a testament to its excellence. The award highlights the gin’s outstanding flavour profile, balance, and overall quality, as recognised by the expert judges at the IWSC Awards. It also serves as a recognition of the hard work, expertise, and dedication of our team here in creating a gin that stands out in a competitive market.

For gin enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike, the Royal Philharmonic London Dry Gin is a spirit to be savoured and appreciated. Its distinctive flavour profile, premium ingredients, and meticulous craftsmanship make it a worthy addition to any gin collection or cocktail repertoire. Whether enjoyed on its own or mixed in a classic gin cocktail, the RPO London Dry Gin delivers a symphony of flavours that is sure to impress.

For every bottle sold, we will make a generous donation to the RPO. Creating a unique hand-crafted gin to support the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is both a great privilege and honour.
