Our firm favourite Navy Strength rum has been given a make over. Imported from the Caribbean and matured in oak casks , Nelson's Tipple is a pure navy strength rum bottled at a formidable (yet delectable) 57% abv - the proof point at which gunpowder would still ignite if soaked in spirit. On the nose, rich molasses, dark toffee, and hints of charred oak. The palate is full and commanding, with waves of burnt orange, treacle, and roasted coffee beans, layered over with subtle spice from its cask ageing. Nelson's Tipple honours the Admiral's visit to Ludlow in 1802, when he was granted the Freedom of the town. A rum made for those who stand their ground.
