Limited Edition Our finest Distiller’s Cut English single malt whisky is lovingly handcrafted in the heart of the Welsh Marches using only two ingredients: the finest English and Scottish malted barley, and purified water, the Scottish malt having been slowly and gently smoked in a peat kiln. We carefully quadruple-distil our spirit, before ageing it in second-fill casks, which were used first to mature American bourbon and secondly Scottish whisky. This unique edition has then been cask finished in a rum cask that has also held Tom Oliver's celebrated Royal Cider. This First Edition release marks the 140th anniversary of the publication of The Herefordshire Pomona (1885), the great 19th-century work on the apples and pears of the county. Written in Hereford Cathedral Close by Dr Henry Graves Bull — with illustrations by his daughter, Edith — the Pomona remains one of the treasures of the Cathedral Library. Its pages record the very apples that inspired Royal Cider — Foxwhelp and Dabinett — and, in turn, the cask that finishes this whisky. Medium-bodied with a rich golden hue. A nose of baked apple, honeyed malt and soft spice. On the palate: rum-soaked sultana, vanilla, dried peel and warming oak. A clean, spiced finish with hints of citrus and wild apple.
